Halloween Fun

Warning. There are WAY too many pictures. I couldn't narrow it down.  This year for some reason we hadn't done much to prepare for Halloween, so we pretty much crammed it all into one weekend.  We started Friday by making candy apples for the first time. They turned out quite yummy- although we need to work on making them look a little better.

 Rylee came over to get hers and the girls took her for a spin in the Barbie Escalade. She was a big fan!

 After Rylee left we finally carved our pumpkins. We bought the $4 carving kit at Wal Mart this year. I wasn't sure it would work, but I was pretty tired of our pumpkins not looking very good. I made the girls choose one of the easy patterns and we were quite pleased at how it turned out.

 I always love the girls reactions to pulling the pumpkin top/guts out.  Priceless.

 E has gotten more brave every year- she was pulling out the guts with Chris and making a nice show of it for the camera.

 I bought them each their own pumpkins to paint.  I think its going to become a new tradition, they had fun painting theirs while Chris did all the hard work.

 Chris loves pumpkin carving.  He'll probably make me take this picture off when he reads the blog ;-)

The girls needed a bath after slinging paint all over the kitchen.  Maybe it won't be a tradition after all.....

 Saturday night we headed over to Ft Worth to go to our friends party. Elliott and Elizabeth have been friends since they were babies. 

 Tonight we visited our neighbors before we left to go to Jamie and Rachel's for Trick or Treating.  Here are the girls all decked out as Pretty Kitty and the Scary Witch.

Gracie, Ellen and Charlie live across the street. The other little witch is their cousin.  I'm sure this is the first of many Halloween pics of this group to come!

 After visiting the neighbors we stopped by Amanda and Brads to see little Wonder Woman. Isn't she the cutest?

The girls had lots of fun trick or treating. They even got scared a few times which I found highly entertaining.  One guy had a bowl that when they grabbed candy a skeleton hand came out. Berkley snatched her candy and ran down the driveway screaming.  It was the highlight of my night! I'm a nice mom huh? She got over it pretty quick.  There was another house that they walked up to, Chris and I warned them that the guy was going to do something because we saw him hide around the corner. When he popped out with a mask they both took off screaming.  I offered to go back with them to get the candy and E said "I am NOT trick or treating at this house. I was NOT prepared for that!" Ahhhh good stuff.

My 3 Kids

I have some random shots of the girls that I love- I'd love them more if their heads weren't cut off but sometimes when you are trying to catch them quick that happens ;-) I also finally took my first belly shot of Patton.  Can you tell he's the 3rd? Guess we should just be happy I've gotten any! I'm coming up on 27 weeks, only 3 more months until we get to see his sweet face!

Catching Up

Here's a bunch of random picture from the last few weeks.  The girls love to play outside now that its not crazy hot here.  I'm still not too pleased with the temp since most of my maternity stuff is for winter- if this weather keeps up I might never get to wear it! I forget what they were doing here- some type of game that they made up. They are just so cute and loving with each other.

 Chris was trimming a tree in the backyard and they found walking sticks. Apparently this is their impersonations of old ladies. Not sure where they saw old ladies walking around like this.....

 My grandma came down for a visit from Michigan.  We hadn't seen her in a long time- usually we make it up to Michigan once a year but we haven't been since I was pregnant with Berkley! Hoping to make a trip up there once we're out of the new baby haze again.

 We visited the pumpkin patch with my sister, Brad, Rylee and my mom. The girls had a good time and true to form I got NO great pictures of them.  Its alright though- it keeps with the tradition. My sister's friend made these shirts for the girls- aren't they adorable?

 Elliott really enjoyed how the goats stuck their heads all the way through the fence to get some food.

 Berkley thought this cow was about the coolest thing ever. I think its tongue was about as big as her. I should have gotten video of her cracking up and dropping her cup every time he tried to get some food.

Curly Shirly

I was curling my hair the other day and Berkley came in and asked if I would curl hers too. 

She looks SO MUCH like her cousin Madison here to me.  It is crazy to me how everyone says she looks like me and M looks like her dad- although there must be just enough of Chris and his sister in those two to make them look so much alike sometimes! She was so excited to have curly hair like Elliott, but poor kid has my straight hair and by the end of the day neither one of us had curls :-(

I had to work up at the school one morning so we packed up a backpack to keep Berkley entertained while I worked.  They both thought it was so cool to be going to school together with their little backpacks. 3 more years and this will be everyday.  I'm sure it will be here before I know it!

 We were driving on Saturday and Chris and I heard her jabbering to someone in the backseat- you should hear her little pretend phone conversations they are adorable! She is such a diva.

2 more Berk stories.
-She got some sparkly "farkley" pink princess shoes at Target yesterday before we went to my OB appointment of course everyone at the Dr's office commented on them. (side note- she is always outraged that the dr does not check her baby while we are there- she has a baby in her belly too- named Cinderella) Last night we all went for a walk and we passed by someone on the street- she said "Hey- they didn't say anything about my shoes!"

B-"You know why mommy got that bird on the plate?"
he didn't answer right away
B-"Say Why daddy!"
C- "Why"
B- "Cuz"
In her mind "cuz" is a reasonable answer to any question she is asked but she does not accept it as a response to any of her million inquiries a day.

Busy Busy Weekend

We headed back to East Texas on Saturday to help celebrate PawPaw's Birthday. We enjoyed lunch with all the family then hopped back in the car to go to Arlington and visit our friends that were in town from Florida.  It was lots of fun to hang out with everyone!

 The girls both passed out on the journey from East TX to Arlington, E always sleeps with her bunny on her head. I'm not sure why or how she actually breathes but she always sleeps like this.

 After unsuccessfully trying to wake up Elliott, Berkley decided she might as well get a little shut-eye too.

 Sunday morning we headed to the State Fair as soon as it opened. The weather was wonderful! The girls had such a great time. 

 This was their first ride and one of their favorites. The spinning balloons- they actually call them the teacups since it is similar to the teacups at Disney. But these go up in the air too!

 The NASCAR ride was their other favorite. It goes in a circle but zooms around the turns snapping their little heads back and creating the biggest smiles I've ever seen. 

 Here they are just after a turn. B's mouth is kinda blocked by the bar- but it is wide open. They also started putting their arms up in the air like they were on a roller coaster. It was too cute!

 E was dying to do the bumper cars. HUGE waste of money- the basically spent the entire time caught in a cluster of small children.

 This game was throwing a dart at balloons- the guy working it was so sweet after a few of B's attempts he just had her hold the dart and he blew up a balloon and popped it on her dart. Surprisingly they are both still walking around with their fair prizes 3 days later.

 E actually hit the blocks twice- but didn't knock the bottom one back.  One of those tricky ones.

 We let them eat their cotton candy on the way home. It was a huge hit - it looked like a stuffed bear had been ripped apart between the mess in both of their seats.
