I cannot begin to describe how wonderful it was to get away for a weekend with a bunch of our old college friends- many high school friends for me as well. It was our first time in 2 years to have a totally kid free weekend. We decided to go because our good friend Wes was back from his tour in Afghanistan and he has been wanting to get everyone together. That was all the excuse I needed! Chris, Becca, Beth and I drove down Friday afternoon together. We went straight to Ninfas to enjoy some dinner and a margarita. It is so fun to visit all of our old favorite places!
Next we went to a not-so-favorite place of mine. The Chicken. If you've never experienced The Dixie Chicken in College Station let me try to set the scene. It was built in the 1700's (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit) it is all wood. It hasn't been cleaned since the late 1800's. The boys love to play dominoes here. I've never quite understood the fascination- but with lots of friends there it was a good time!
The tables are all carved up. Luckily Wes had at least 3 pocket knives in his pocket and carved something in a table to commemorate our weekend. It was kinda a 10 year reunion for us- since most of us graduated in '01. Seems like yesterday.
My favorite boy and I
The group from Friday night.
Saturday the boys went golfing and the girls laid out by the hotel pool. I burned myself SO BAD. I was trying to be careful too! It was awful- but I had a nice time chatting with the girls and getting some sun. Beth and I were planning on getting pretty wild on Saturday night- we wanted to start off with a Hangover Elevator picture. We thought we were pretty funny, Chris not so much.
This group is TROUBLE. Susan and her boyfriend made the trip up to meet us on Saturday night.
The whole group from Saturday. Please ignore the girl in the bottom left corner. She decided she was part of our group-we are pretty fun ;) I didn't mind hanging out with her but wasn't very happy that she was jumping into all of our pictures.
Wes, Jeff, Jackie and Donnie
So much fun to see all of our friends- even though we're all spread out we get back together and its like no time has passed. We missed our friends that couldn't make it- as soon as Anne comes back from the other side of the world we're doing it all again!

Looks like a blast!! We graduated in '00-'01 too! And we visited friends during college for bonfire, so we had the pleasure of visiting the Dixie Chicken! ;)
