We had a big snowstorm last week. Record breaking in TX. We got a whole foot of snow!! I am sure that is just a normal Monday up in Michigan but here it was something to celebrate! I have never ever seen such wonderful packing snow down here. It was fabulous! The pictures are very out of order.
J called around lunchtime to say he was getting off work early and wanted to know if we could go sledding. Lucky for E and I, Chris was home working so while B was taking her nap (or not taking as the case may be). J (my brother) E and I scouted and found some big hills to sled down. Then we came home and made a huge snowman. There was even snow on the ground the next day for a whole day in the snow again. As fun as it was, I wouldn't want to live in it. We were totally unprepared. The girls were wearing my gloves, I was wearing Chris's gloves- we had to put stuff in the dryer each time we came in so it would be ready to go out again! Maybe next year I will invest in some winter clothing for my kids. We usually don't need it down here!
This snowDRAGON was made the second day. By E- all by herself! She insisted on rolling and putting the balls on top of each other all by herself. Quite impressive!

E kissing one of her creations. I think she probably made about a dozen that day.

B didn't spend a ton of time outside- she is like her daddy when it comes to the cold!
This is J pulling E back to the car after sledding (our sled is a storage bin lid wrapped in a trashbag) Classy. but it worked!

Cute pics! I felt exactly the same way with the snow--unprepared! The kids definitely needed waterproof gloves and some snowboots, neither of which we had. They still had fun though. Like you said, we don't usually need all that winter stuff here.
