Remember when I mentioned the Road Trip we took 3 months ago? Yeah- here are some more pictures from that. Turns out I do my best blogging when I am procrastinating editing sessions. Who knew?
Anyway, so after Florida we said goodbye to our cousins and my sister and brothers families and made our way North to Michigan. We stopped in Nashville for a 3 day little trip because it was a good halfway point and we wanted to get to MI closer to the weekend, my grandpa was on vacation until then and most everyone else would be at work.
Here is the cutest little bell hop ever. For some reason they didn't want to hire him to stay. Maybe because every time they saw him in the hallway he was either crawling (because for some reason even though he's been walking for 6 months by now dirty hotel floors are very appealing to crawl on), running away from us, or screaming because he'd been caught running away from us. He was a true delight.
We went to the science museum. I forget what it was called because its been so long. It was the coolest one we've been to so far. Tons of fun cool stuff to do! Chris and E were in a tornado simulator here. It wasn't that great of a simulator in my opinion- I think it should pick you up off the ground and knock you around a little bit. This is probably one of my favorite pics from the trip. Its like he knew the TRex was behind him. Cracks me up every time.
E got to do some space walk thing that she really enjoyed.
Our neighbors told us we HAD to eat at the Loveless Cafe when we stopped in Nashville. It was a really cool home cooking kind of restaurant. Lots of history to it and apparently a big stop for celebrities out there. We didn't see any, but then again we didn't look. Berkley wanted a picture in this thing. We did however spend way too much money buying their biscuits and peach jam to bring back with us. We are still enjoying them for the occasional breakfast now. Pretty delish!
We also went to the Frist Museum of Art. They had a really cool art exhibit where the kids got to do all kinds of fun things. Chris and I didn't get to see much of the grownup part- but we're not very cultured in our art anyway- we always think we (or one of our kids) could probably slap paint on the canvas the same way. I never have understood what makes some things art in these places- as opposed to something my kid throws together out back. Maybe I need some art appreciation classes or something.....However there was a super cool exhibit that was kinda 3D and really neat that I got to walk through with Patton (when he was melting down and I was taking him for some cooling off). Chris never got to see it though because after that Berk had a pretty substantial meltdown of her own and we had to leave. (We chose to leave I should say- that sentence kinda sounded like we were asked to leave...although if we had stayed another 5 minutes between P and B we probably would have been).
Hanging out at the hotel. Berk really loved the little lap desk
P really loved getting onto the computer
We went down to where all the music and bars are our last night and had dinner, walked around a bit and had a carriage ride. Our kids kinda look like spoiled rotten turkeys in this picture with their surly faces while on a carriage ride. Its just because I was taking a picture though- they really did have fun!
We also had fun swimming in the pool at the hotel- Berkley turned into quite a little fish on this part of the trip, she got much more confident and was able to swim from one side of the pool to the other!
