My sister and I got the kids together to take pics for my mom's big frame for her Mother's Day gift. At first glance I thought it went great. Much easier than last time when E was passed out and P was under one. Then I got home and started looking and realizing that some kids never even looked at the camera- and Eli looks terrified.....Still got some cute stuff though!
These pics are SO Patton. He is such a little stinker/ham.
Berkley had her mini Olympics at gymnastics. There were a TON of kids there- it was near impossible to find your own in the sea of green. She was so excited to go - its the whole reason she wanted to take gymnastics I think- because Ry had a trophy from mini Olympics last year. She was pretty disappointed to find out Ry would now have TWO trophies when she got her first one. She has gotten so competitive - she cracks me up with things like.
b: "Mom am I the best swimmer? I did better than Patton right?
me: "You are a great swimmer- you both did a really good job at lessons"
b: "Yeah. But I'm better right?"
me: "You were working on different things and he's littler than you- you both did great"
b: "Yeah. But I'm the best Right?"
This can go on for 5 minutes. Until I agree that yes, she is indeed the best.
Chris and I are terrible about remembering that we are supposed to bring our kids flowers at the completion of every event they participate in. Dance, Talent shows, apparently gymnastics.....Luckily mom saved the day and had brought berk flowers. I wish I caught a pic of her face lighting up when she saw them. So sweet!
Mothers Day at our house was awesome.
There is a blog- with some pretty terrible language that I can't share here or Elliott will click on it and read it. It was a top 10 things I want for mothers day- here was number three.
3. I want to sleep in. But not with my hooligans shouting “MOMMYYYYYY!!!” at the top of their lungs and ramming one of those giant cannon thingies into the door to bust inside. To all the hubbies reading this: when the rugrats wake up, take them outside immediately. Not downstairs. OUTSIDE. That’s right, scoop them up in a football hold and rush them out the door. I’m serious. Change their diapers and their clothes on the front lawn if you have to. Just don’t let them wake me up.
this was another favorite
6. I want you to cook breakfast for me. In someone else’s kitchen
oh - and this
9. I want a good present. Like one I’ll really like. It’s not the thought that counts. It’s MY thought that counts. And my thought should not be WTF
SO- I woke up on my own around 9:30 to a quiet house. I called Chris and he said they would be back in a little bit. I knew they would bring me breakfast in bed- because Berk told me a few days before and E got mad at her for spoiling the surprise- right before SHE told me that they were getting donuts. Haha I love them. I told them that they didn't need to wake me up- that even if I woke up I wouldn't come out of my room until they came to get me . I got my camera ready so I could catch them coming in.
Berk peeking in at me
Elliott made this little breakfast in bed tray all by herself a few days before.
Chris is so good at helping them make things for me for Mother's Day
P painted me a picture- I love his little face giving it to me!
All piled up in bed. I think at this point one of the smoothies had tipped over and gotten on the bed a little bit- nothing major though.
Then Patton decided to try drinking a smoothie. Laying down in bed. BEST part of my day. Chris was pretty irritated that I had to take a picture before cleaning anything up- but aren't you glad I did? Makes me laugh every time. Elliott said he looked like an orange snowman.
