E Bop is EIGHT!

This is probably going to be an extremely long post- I guess I tried to make up for not taking many pics in July by taking a million during the party.

And don't miss the fact that I blogged TWO other times today.  Yeah. I did.  You're welcome.

I cannot believe my baby is 8 - she likes to keep reminding me there are only 10 years until she leaves me for college.....and she's halfway to old enough to drive.  Seriously. When did that happen? If I weren't lazy I'd get out the hard drive and do a montage of her pics from every year.  But you'll just have to imagine it. Because I am lazy- as I think I've proven by blogging her 8th birthday 2 months late.

Some of the little things about my big girl
  • She is hilarious. And sarcastic.  No idea where she could have gotten it from.
  • She is super smart and loves to correct me.....I know exactly where that came from
  • She loves sports and is turning into quite the daddy's girl.  We've come a long way from the little girl that used to throw books at him and run out of the room when he tried to read to her.
  • She loves school and is an awesome student
  • She loves to read- I've gotten her started on some of my old favorites like The Babysitters Club
  • She is awesome at softball and working hard on her gymnastics skills- she can't wait to be able to do a back handspring
  • She is helpful - always does what we ask her to do with minimal complaint (I know she didn't get that one from me)
  • She is an absolute idol to her little sister and brother and usually is very good to them. Especially Patton- she is like a little mommy to him
  • She has an extremely kind heart
  • Did I mention she's funny? The stuff she comes up with amazes me.

She was super excited to have a pool party/ sleepover.  She started planning it last summer.  Boys were supposed to come for the pool party part but none of them could come! Its hard having a summer birthday- we are thinking about waiting until school starts next year- but I'm thinking I don't mind a small crowd if we're doing sleepovers.  Luckily almost all the girls made it- I think there were only one or two that we gone. She also decided she wanted a luau theme.  It turned out super cute- it was a good idea!

Took a few pics with the decorations before everyone got there.

I love how she was directing the singing- and the big smile on her face.

Little hula guy coulnd't be left out of the action
After they swam they played a little smash ball- Chris and I did the smashing the first round- then the girls took over

My friend Laura gave us a great idea the day or two before about a game where they partner up and blindfold one person - who then puts makeup on the other person. It was a huge hit- thanks Laura! Excuse the many pictures here- they just had so much fun and I love their faces!

What a bunch of divas- all I said is lets get a group shot and this is what they did-
Next up it was Teen Beach Movie with popcorn on the patio

Some flashlight hide n go seek in the house and some jumping on the trampoline with another round of birthday cookie and then they finished up the movie and were in bed by 11:30- willingly! AND they all passed out and I didn't have to do the walk up and tell them to go to sleep 10 times- followed by 2 seconds of silence and a lot of giggling like I remember from back in the day.  I think I successfully wore  them out :)  They even slept until after 7- I've heard many stories of the sleepover girls up around 5:45 ready to go- and I was dreading that.  I even had to push back pickup because some of them still weren't up at 8:15.
