So one of my 2013 goals (the trendy thing to call
resolutions) is that I'm going to stop taking a million pictures a month (maybe
not stop taking a million but stop keeping a million to go through.) Problem is
- if I take 15 pics of them they make 15 cute different faces and I love them
all- then I'm stuck with going though 500 pictures for one month in my
shutterfly book. Its ridiculous. So cutting back on that.... As I go
through my pics from Christmas I'm sorting- deleting ones that are very much
the same (I'm hoping it hurts less over time) and trying to keep it
managable. So I thought I would do one post - cause I'm keeping to the
best and the brightest - quality not quantity. Then I got to Christmas
morning.......and there had to be a separate post. I literally had
40 pictures of us in front of the tree. Because I got a remote and didn't
have to run back and forth. And Patton was being Patton. So we kept trying. ANd
trying. It was funny at the time- but I was slightly annoyed-maybe more than slightly.
Now as I go back through
them. I am dying laughing. They are wonderfully awful
each in its own way. So there will have to be another post. I narrowed down my top 7. That's progress
I think this is the one picture he is smiling in. Because he's off on his own, If I had realized this I might have let him sit off to the side and saved myself 3 separate photo-shoots.
I did some in B/W, color is super hard when you take them in terrible light without a flash (my camera doesn't have one and I am super bad at using the external one- just ask Nanny from Christmas Eve - she had to stand there with all those kids for like 5 min while I tried to get my flash to go off.)
I think P had done something to Berk in this one- I can't remember why she is crying but I bet its his fault.
Maybe next time I can hid the remote. Jeez- did I know a pic was being taken? Look at P's face. Priceless.
Still angry- Look how sweet Elliott looks, notice how she's always doing what she's supposed to do? She's awesome. She should really get some type of award.
Berk did really well too- except that whole incednt above
This is where I gave up
Patton interrupted Santa gifts to go get a bag of donuts and tell us it was time to eat
He enjoyed them a lot. He sat and ate at the table while all the real food was cooking
E loved her gift from Berk- she got her earrings pink spray for her hair and lipgloss
Patton wasn't too interested in opening gifts. He'd occasionally turn around to see what the squealing was about
Chris got in trouble because he was OCD picking up each scrap of paper as it was pulled and getting into what might have been a cute shot.
Patton just goes back to his business on the iphone.
After all the Christmas morning fun we headed over to my parents house. We were all sitting at the kitchen table chatting when it started to SNOW. On Christmas!!!! I tried to explain to the kids how lucky they are to have snow on Christmas. They think that happens all the time- because in the last few years it has snowed more than it has the whole 20+ years I've lived in TX.
E bop opening gifts. Not sure how to turn it.
All the craziness
Berkley
The sheer joy on Chris's face is because Rachel got Berkley colored skinny jeans. If you know me I've shouted loud and lots against colored jeans and skinny jeans. Colored skinny jeans is the perfect storm for me. Rachel did ask me before she bought them- and I do think they look cute sometimes- I think my problem with them is so many people buy ones that look terrible on them. Terrible. Its ruined the whole thing for me. Maybe sometime I will do a post on do's and don'ts for skinny jeans - I just need to collect some pics- we all know how fashionable I am ;-) My friend Katie and I were had a conversation recently about things we've talked so much trash about that we can't wear now even if we wanted to. She has the same issues with leggings and vests (not necessarily together). Cracks me up.
Patton LOVED his Mickey tote bag that Aunt Amanda and Uncle Brad got him- he carried around his bag the rest of the day.
All the kids (and Patton's bag)
My kids (and the bag)
Grammy and Papa with all the kids (Patton is concerned about his bag)
At the end of Christmas Day- as the last presents were being opened Patton finally became super into opening presents. Just had to be on his terms.
Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a great one! Be sure to check out the Post 1 post too.
