Snow and Ice Skating

Since we were at my parents on Christmas and unprepared for playing in snow the kids were eager to get out there first thing the next morning.

Patton liked it- until he stepped into the snow.

Berk was super excited came out- laid right down for a snow angel and stood up screaming because it was too cold.  I still laugh when I think about it.  Hilarious - I am not sure what she was expecting.  I think it did touch actual back skin though because her jacket wasn't very long.  Poor babies don't have good snow playing clothes - cant buy it here because we never know if we'll actually get snow and they grow so fast!
 Look at those eyelashes!
E had no problems rolling around in it.  I had to tell her to stop putting it on her face! Her cheeks were getting all red.
Happy kids out in the snow
Trying to make a snowball.  Unfortunately the snow wasn't very packable so there were no snowmen or snowball fights.  Hopefully we'll get some again!
 Love that face!
 I call this "Sad Bunny"
My brother had the idea to go ice skating so we took the girls too.  It was so nice to have an extra adult! I hadn't skated since high school and I'm not sure when Chris last did- the kids needed lots of help.  E got out on her own a little bit at the end and was great skating holding hands.

Ready to get out on the ice! Right when we were walking out they pulled out the ice cleaning machine so we got to build up lots of anticipation.
Uncle J and Elliott bit it as soon as they stepped out.  To be more accurate I think Elliott bit it and pulled Uncle J down with her.
Back in business

Berks first step out on the ice
She loved it! I thought she would last about 5 minutes but she did really great- especially when she got to hold hands with two adults.
 Oops
 Slowly creeping around the rink
E venturing out on her own
Look at her go! I got a video but couldn't find it when I was uploading.  I guess you'll have to imagine it :-)
 The family
Uncle J picked Berk up for a twirl around the rink once he got his skating legs under him.  He hadn't been in a long time either.
J and me with the girls.  (me is the proper use there right? because if J wasn't in the sentence it wouldn't be "I with the girls" right? I never am sure about those things)

This CRACKS me up.  He has been carrying around purses for the last couple weeks and the other night he added shoes in- when I told him it was time for bed he ran to the TV- this is what I got- its kinda dark. Feetball=Football

This post had me cracking up, too funny! The whole crying in the snow from P and Berk is priceless! The ones on the ice are all adorable too!
