I know I'm way behind on my blog. I told grandpa I'd have pictures up when I got home and its taken me awhile. Hope all these make up for it!
Patton was due on the 30th, and on my last blog post I even said he was snug as a bug and not going anywhere. He decided to prove me wrong on that. I started having contractions that night around 8. They were all over the place from 10 min to 25 min apart. I didn't get much sleep because they would randomly wake me up. I didn't think much of it though because I contracted off and on the week before I was induced with Berkley. Wednesday morning I got up at 6 and was nesting like a crazy person. Cleaning the house, doing laundry. Contractions kept coming randomly but I was pretty much ignoring them. By around 2 they started coming 4-9 min apart, I called Chris to let him know and continued to clean. By 4 they had been pretty consistent but still a little random- I had been told to go to the hospital when they were every 5 min for an hour. I was supposed to get my hair done so I was pretty concerned about making it there at 5, I called the nurse to find out if I was okay to keep going about my business but she thought I should head to the hospital because I might be in labor. I was pretty torn at this point because all though I really wanted to meet the boy, I wasn't convinced that I was actually in labor and I didn't want to miss my hair appointment. I also didn't want to be sitting with foil in my hair and realize I should have gone to the hospital. Chris got home and my parents came over to keep the girls and we headed up there. I was dilated to a 5, so they said I was not going to be sent home but since my contractions weren't consistent they wanted to monitor me for awhile before admitting me. So they monitored me, admitted me, and I got to feel some fantastic terrible contractions until I could finally have my epidural at 9:30. He arrived at 11:18 with big squishy cheeks and a sweet face. 8 pounds, 8 ounces and 20.5 inches long. We are all in love!
Jamie, Rachel, Amanda and Mom were all at the hospital waiting for him. Dad was home with the girls since it was so late. Poor Jamie and Rachel, I think I might have set them back a few years on having kids between watching my painful contractions and the discussions about everything that goes on.
Nanny and PawPaw came first thing the next morning to meet their 12th grandchild.
Rylee and Uncle Brad came up to see us too. Rylee was way more interested in adjusting the hosptial bed than holding her new cousin.
This is Berkley's new thing she kept doing, if you would ask her anything about her baby brother.
It took a lot of coaxing, but she finally climbed up with Elliott for a picture
She was cracking me up- cutting her eyes over to him and clinging to Elliott like he was going to do something to her.
Elliott was just beaming. She has been so beyond excited about her baby brother. Now that he is finally here she can't stand to not be holding him. If she's not holding him, she is standing over whoever is waiting for her turn. She loves to take care of him and tell us what he needs, usually if he's not with her its her he needs. Such a little mommy!
Papa got to come up and finally meet his first grandson.
Our family of 5
This is what I do all the time, just stare at him he is so sweet and perfect. Chris says this is it for us, so I'm trying to enjoy every minute. Even getting up every hour at night to feed him ;-) Although he did much better last night. I'm sure we'll have millions more pictures to come!
